Day 3: Adventure in Film - Tyler

Today was the first day that we began to start the projects for our trip. We split into three groups; Restoration, Film, and Archaeology, and went our separate ways. My group, film, went into Falmouth and set up base at the Baptist Manse Church. In the morning, we spent time exploring different topics for the film, and the afternoon we asked some people we had past relationships with to secure interviews for this year.

The topic that we ended up deciding for the film was how peoples' families were connected to the history and culture of Falmouth and Jamaica. We thought that this topic was a very significant one because the night before we had an insightful seminar conversation on the ways that Jamaica has changed to become more accommodating of the tourism industry and how it may (or may not) have affected the historical values of Jamaica. The hope for tomorrow is to have successful meaningful interviews and conversations with people to get a better understanding of how locals perceive and feel about this topic, helping us to create a documentary preserving peoples insight and opinions.
